Went to check out my favorite local pond in Orange this AM, with gear in the truck.
Pond had some slush in spots, but has been steadily freezing over this week(about 3" Wednesday morning). First hole had some slush with 4-1/2" of good looking black ice! Pounced up and down - all good. Took 2 more steps and started to drill another hole - whooshhh! Dragged myself out and went home. My balls are still inside my body.
Be careful out there. |

Spud bars, best thing u can buy for early ice.

I do it some times! Guilty! I like the hollow sound and splashing my friends feet with water.
