Went to Wood Creek. Had about 10 flags in 3 hours, broke off 2, 4 or 5 runners, landed 3 including a humongous 18" largemouth that had 1 of my hooks in him, I forgot how to post pics in this cockamamie website?
But good to be on the ice again![/img]
|

Wood Creek Pond is in Norfolk. The elevation there is almost 1,400 feet above sea level. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

It is in Norfolk. North of town on 272 and just shy of Mass border. I called all the bait shops in NW - this was the only one that had 3+". It is pretty high up and very shallow.I can't believe Waramaug is safe other than a cove. Winchester and Park Pond are the highest elevation in the state, and not very deep - so that's probably next.l |

I think that Winchester Lake and Park Pond are at about 1,200 feet above sea level. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

The GPS on my Jeep provides altitude information. I always keep an eye on it on my way up to Winchester Lake. It's amazing how much of a difference altitude makes on temperature. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

Winchester and park should have promise for safe ice. When I checked them on 12/8 they were both locked up. But who knows what the snow over the last week has done. |
