Got home from Boston Saturday and hit the same striper spot again Sunday. Arrived just after 1pm and fished for about 3 1/2 hours. Setup this time was a Star Rods Aerial 8'/PENN Pursuit 5000/Sufix 17 lb Tritanium.
The lure I stuck with was a pearl grey shiner FLR-16 seeing I had my heavier setup with me.
I was surprised at the action this time. Had a number of hits but landed 5. 2 were 18", 1 was 26", and the other 2 were 25".
Something was telling me that the stripers were more active last time due to the conditions outside and the storm system was approaching. Something else I was thinking was somehow they're more attracted to the smaller FLR-10, as if they're saying, "there's a tasty little snack". |
