The bunker are moving out of the CT River, and the RI coast is now really hit or miss, so November/December are pike season for me. Went out for a quick trip yesterday and landed a pair + some pickerel. Biggest was under 30". Just dehooked them in the water and sent them on their way with an agreement to meet up a few more years down the road. Still, it's a start with a lot of pike trips to come! Pike both hit a 5" Sebile Magic Swimmer in natural shiner. Had live lines out as well.

That's really sweet. I've been thinking of getting a Magic Swimmer in the Golden Shiner pattern. I once saw a golden shiner suspending in Hamburg Cove, so they must be a fairly common forage fish on the lower Connecticut River.

I'd say decent to bigger. I just dehooked it boatside, so I've got no measurement or weight. I'm not a big fan of pickerel this time of year, as they just maul my big pond shiners but are too small to take them.

I'm going to be targeting pike starting now. This is a new thing for me. any tips? I'm an avid striper fisherman and have alot of plugs already that will probably do. what about slow current vs fast current? what kind of structure should I be aiming for? are they in the main rivers or just in the coves? any help would be great.
