Wednesday afternoon I headed down to Seaside Park to fish the Fayerweather jetty and city boat ramp and also check on the mosquitoes at Fayerweather Island. Arrived around 1pm and high tide was scheduled for 2:47pm.

Started off at the city boat ramp but wasn't seeing any activity even with how calm the water was. Only landed a sea robin with the FLR-10.

Worked the jetty for a while by throwing the SP-9, FLR-10, SXR-10, SRNR-8, SSR-9, and Storm Swimmin Stick. Landed another sea robin with the FLR-10.

Headed out to Fayerweather Island to check on the mosquitoes and found them to no longer be out there which meant I fished out there. Never got any hits or swirls on the FLR-10 and SP-9.

Fished from the jetty again as I made my way back to shore but nada.

Last stop was the city boat ramp hoping for something to turn on and be ready for the sunset schoolie bite. Never saw any action on the surface but later right around sunset is when I landed a 19" schoolie with the SP-9.

As the evening went on more surfcasters arrived including 3 usuals I see. It then became a competition. Saw people throwing topwaters from smaller Creek Chubs and $10 wooden plugs to larger Cotton Cordells and SP Minnows. Size seemed to be the thing that was working for people. Other than me landing another 4 schoolies, losing 1, and getting a number of explosions, other lures I saw working as well were Rebel Magnum Pop-R, 4" pencil pencil poppers, and smaller handmade wooden poppers. Only saw 1 bluefish landed.

Once there was no more sunlight the bite died and never saw any bunker come up to the surface in our area.

Hit the road just before 7pm.

You really need to see an optometrist.

Your better off sticking to fishing that local reservoir you go to instead of commenting like a negative nancy here. Laughing
