I did some research that shows many people don't like the flesh of albies.
How fishy is it compared to a tailor blue? Does it have a true tuna flavor? |

I read it is about texture as well as flavor. I imagined something like choke of an artichoke with a marginally palatable flavor. Don't know first hand but id does not sound too good. _________________ Herring? |

Not really. They are not even in the tuna family, mackerel family I think. The meat is almost black!
I know guys that have smoked them and were able to eat them but no one has ever said they were good. The general consensus is that a cat won't even eat them.
I still chase them though, no luck yesterday but I'll be trying again soon!!!! |
