Water temps were 70 deg.
Start time was 6am.
Fished a small club event today. Flipped a 1/4oz Black and Blue Jig with a
Ochochobe Craw Color Paca Craw. Hit two smallies the first 15 minutes off rock walls left out of the launch. A three and one pounder. Then nothing for four hours. Jumped all over the lake. Three decent large mouths were taken by another event participant in North Bay on top water frogs in the lilly pads.
Headed down to South Bay. Flipped a jig and lost a 3+ lb largemouth in Lilly Pads. Tossed the jig right back into the same hole and hooked a 28" Pike. Boated that one then lost two more at the boat with a chartreuse spinner bait. .
Really slow day. Wind started whipping about 10am putting white caps on the surface. Very difficult controlling the boat and casts. Water levels are very low. Bounced the motor's on some boulders that we normally cruise right over. Some areas couldn't get closer than 75' from shore. I know the lake slowed down a lot since the weed kill but the weeds are starting to grow back and the fishing, compared to the last four weeks is starting to rebound somewhat. _________________ Don't hold your farts in!
