Just went down to Branford to check on my boat after the rain we had the last few days and there was a lot of bunker hitting the top of the water. They wernt jumping in schools so I don't think anything was crashing them but they were everywhere. |

Thanks for the post, great to hear! Looks like we are actually going to have fall weather this year with cooler nights starting tomorrow. Hopefully the fish feel this as well.
Bunker are in the Bridgeport area, have seen them here and there. Pods are VERY small and do not appear to under any distress. From what I have seen (have not fished), there are in different spots each day and do not stay long. Early morning is best and when I have seen them (on my way into work) but have heard they popped up at night time as well. Mid day, they are no where to be found.
Best of luck, now I just need to get out and fish!!
Tight lines.

I have finally seen bait from shore!!! Bunker have been running up the rivers in Glfd but nothing is pushing them. I did manage to pull out a schoolie striper. I hope M&D will show up soon. This summer can only get better. |

Michael,
The pods I am seeing are the size of a picnic table at best. I only spot them in FLAT calm water. Once the slightest breeze starts, they are very difficult to spot. They are not in thick, nor in large numbers. Personally I will not post spots for any reason but all I can say is the places you are fishing, they have been spotted there.
Glenn - what is M&D?? Mullet? |

Its mom & dad. last night the bunker made their run a long the shore. There were four of us fishing. It appears that the few fish below will only eat live bait (chucks don't work). We all stayed a couple hours only to produce 1 keeper and a good size Blue that cut the line. |
