Saturday and Sunday I hit Seaside Park again. I was hoping for a tailor or keeper fluke, but didn't mind having light action fun with the robins.

Saturday was more productive.

Nothing happened on the incoming at the Fayerweather jetty. Caught a sea robin at the city boat launch with a glass ghost Clackin Minnow CNM-11.

As the tide started turning I headed over to the rocky stretch with no luck.

Once I got to Breezy Point is when action picked up.

Caught 5 more sea robins and a 13" fluke with a combination of the CNM-11, shad Shallow Shad Rap SSR-9, and silver shad Jointed Shallow Shad Rap JSSR-7.

Once tide got too low action died so it was time for snappers.

Stuck with my trusty Husky Jerk HJ-6 and landed many, but only 2 were nicer 8" fish. All others were small 5 and 6 inches.

Hit the road around 8pm.

Sunday things were totally different.

I hit the last 90 minutes of incoming at Breezy Point. Lures were glass ghost X-Rap Shad Shallow, glass ghost Clackin Minnow CNM-11, shad Shallow Shad Rap SSR-9, silver shad Jointed Shallow Shad Rap JSSR-7, and olive green Clackin Minnow CNM-9.

Before taking a break Downtown for something to eat before peak high, I caught 2 sea robins and foul hooked an 11" fluke. All of those were on the 2 Clackin Minnows.

Once I got back during the outgoing I only got 1 other hit on the CNM-9.

Snapper fishing was very slow compared to Saturday. Only landed 2 snappers and hardly any schools following the HJ-6.

Don't give up! They seem to be moving in closer.Did you see a lot of boats out there. The bluefish tournament was this past weekend.Hopefully all those chunk fishermen lured more in closer.

That's probably why we didn't see anyone on Thursday.Everyone was resting up for the long weekend.

Had zero luck snapper fishing on Monday, really a bummer, especially since my kids love it so much. On a brighter note, my eyes think they spotted some bunker splashing and frolicking this morning. Did not have time to fish, essentially a drive by but I did get a good look. Nothing on them ofcourse but I hope that changes real soon!

The way I look it, things really can not get much worse than they are now so I'm looking to the bright side for things to improve

Been reading bunker is in fairly thick on the LI side, so I view it as a sign of things to come!!

Tight lines and keep pluggin'!!
