I normally fish salt, I decided to take a break and fish some fresh glad I did. Fished Wednesday from 5-8pm at a local lake in Shelton. I normally use only plugs, today I used live bait.
Caught a bunch of smallies, switched spots and hooked into my first Pike.
36" 15 lbs, caught on a 4 6" trout pole with 4 lb test and no steel leader after a long fight over 15 minutes. I was fishing from shore-normally im in the water, This fish took more drag than almost any fish ever including salt. I had to walk and move alot trying to keep this fish from breaking under lots of structure, boats , docks, rocks. that were around. |

Nice going.Congratulations on your first weed wolf!A keeper size at that.
That's quite an achievement on 4 lb test and no leader. _________________ ...Randy...

Lake Housy....just what i was going to guess.
As for below the Derby dam.Saw a 38 incher pulled out of the cove by Sullivan's last spring.Guy was targeting stripers with soft plastics on jigheads and surprise, surprise a pike.Everyone thought it was a big striper before it came up to the surface. _________________ ...Randy...

While I was at Lake Housy yesterday I spotted a Carp that was freshly torn to shreds. I guessed a Pike had a hand in it. I saw picture from July that a couple guys took of Pike they took there. _________________ Don't hold your farts in! They travel up your spine to your brain and thats where shitty ideas come from. |
