I'll do that only if I need a quick fishing fix or I am too lazy to pull the boat out. Either way it's still fun!

Me too.... No boat = No boat fishing = Lots of onshore
I've done a lot from a canoe, but they just aren't comfortable, you can't stand up and there is no room for the gear to be easily accessible
Some day when I can afford it I'll get a little 16'
Until then I keep learning good places that would be great places if you were on the water
