My plan was to head down to the sandbar at Remington around 4pm for the rest of the outgoing and the turn of the tide. But that changed after noticing I had a flat on my bike. After having to get a new tube and tire put on my bike and getting home around 6:15pm, I headed straight down. Low tide for Bridgeport was scheduled for 6:31pm and got there just after 7pm. Conditions were a steady 5 to 10mph southeast breeze with an occasional 12 to 15mph gust. Skies were overcast with moisture getting higher as the evening progressed. Setup was the same 7 footer as last time.
Lures I tried throwing included glass ghost Clackin Minnow CNM-11, smelt BX Minnow BXM-10, original pearl shad Flat Rap FLR-10, shad Shallow Shad Rap SSR-9, silver shad Jointed Shallow Shad Rap JSSR-7, pearl grey shiner FLR-10, flake ayu Max Rap MXR-15, and blue sardine Saltwater X-Rap SXR-10.
Had 3 hits all on the SXR-10 that seemed to be all fluke. One was a light tap kinda like a bluegill pecking at a jerkbait. Another was a quick tight head shake before it let go. The other was a swipe like an aggressive bluegill hit making the rod do a tiny bend.
Hit the road around 8:15pm
Didn't see or hear any snappers splashing on the surface. Saw more birds over towards Pleasure Beach. |

That's good.Do you think they were over bunker? Or snappers chasing smaller bait?
I'm trying to get my grandfather to go down to the Housy next week.If the bunker are still in Bridgeport harbor I'm sure we'll shoot over there to snag some. Then probably go out to cans 18 & 20 off lordship.Unless they show up in the river, then we'll probably go out to the barber poles straight out from Milford harbor well past Charles island.
Other than that we snap wire with the ole perriwinkles. _________________ ...Randy...
