Nice fish and video! Every time I see something like that, I think I need to buy a yak. I watched a guy on a sleigh ride around Goshen last year for quite a while on a 46 pounder. _________________ RNA - It's in my blood.

Catching it looks like a hell of a lot of fun. Bringing it in the yak does not! LOL _________________ There's a fine line between fishing....

Nice job on a great fish. Looks like a lot of fun on the kayak. Just wondering, though: does catching a large bass on a kayak reduce the amount of time the fish needs to be revived? Every fish in the mid 40" range I've released from shore needed at least a couple minutes to get its strength back. |

That's a awesome. Great video and pictures. Got to be awesome out there on a yak. I'd love to take mine out but still a little sketched out about it _________________ Electrician by day, fish junkie at night. |

Usually no revival needed unless it takes me an unusual amount of time to get it back in the water. I use pretty heavy tackle,..65 or 80 lb braid and a 40lb leader, combined with a tight drag....so as soon as the fish tires, it is at the side of the yak!! Once or twice a season,..they will float after the release and I will have To go chase it down and then move it back and forth for a while to revive it. So far that has always worked for me and everything has ended up swimming away! _________________ "If people concentrated more on the really important things in life there'd be a shortage of fishing poles."

Thanks for the reply. I figured you're probably in pretty close proximity to the fish most of the time. Again, real nice fish! |
