After getting home from fishing with Genna, I took a nap and then headed down to Seaside Park. High tide for Bridgeport was scheduled for 3:31pm and got to the Fayerweather Island jetty around 1:45pm.
Lures I played with included pearl grey shiner Flat Rap FLR-10, blue sardine Saltwater X-Rap SXR-10, glass ghost Clackin Minnow CNM-11, silver shad Jointed Shallow Shad Rap JSSR-7, glass ghost X-Rap Shad Shallow XRSH-8, flake purple ghost Max Rap MXR-11, and flake blue Max Rap MXR-13.
While I was out on the jetty I left the JSSR-7 for last, saying that if nothing else works then it's time for the JSSR-7 to prove if there's even any sea robins. Nothing else worked except for the JSSR-7. Caught 2 sea robins on the Black Rock Harbor side farther out closer to the island.
Eventually headed over to Breezy Point at the turn of the tide. Couldn't fish the rocky stretch and the beach side of the jetty due to waves. Wind was a steady 10 to 15 mph east wind.
Caught another 2 sea robins at Breezy Point with the JSSR-7. Nothing else got attention.
Took a break by having lunch Downtown then headed back over to Breezy Point and Remington. Never caught another sea robin or anything else.
Hit the road around 7:15pm |

Think you should tell Rapala to remarket the JSSR-7. as a sea robin lure _________________ ...Randy...

I stopped throwing my Yozuri Mag Darter because Sea Robins seem to love also. _________________ There's a fine line between fishing....

I still enjoy having the fun of battling sea robins if nothing else is around |
