Low tide for Bridgeport on Tuesday was scheduled for 6:56pm and was thinking about hitting the Remington sandbar. Looked at the radar and saw stormy weather stretching from Stratford and Shelton to New Haven and Woodbridge. It was slowly moving south. Still decided to head out having confidence that the storm wasn't gonna hit Bridgeport Harbor.
Arrived around 5:20pm with the Okuma SST/Fierce 2000 setup. Lures I threw included flake blue Max Rap MXR-13, glass ghost Clackin Minnow CNM-11, blue sardine Saltwater X-Rap SXR-10, Storm Jointed Minnow Stick, smelt BX Minnow BXM-10, pearl grey shiner Flat Rap FLR-10, silver shad Jointed Shallow Shad Rap JSSR-7, shad Shallow Shad Rap SSR-9, chrome Skitter Pop SP-9, and moss back shiner Clackin Minnow CNM-9.
Caught 2 short fluke both measuring 13 inches. One was caught with the SXR-10 and the other with CNM-11.
As for bait, tiny minnows were swimming around and also saw what were either peanut bunker or tiny snappers occasionally jumping out of the water and skipping across the surface. Was surprised to see the JSSR-7 not working with those small fish around.
Hit the road just before 9pm. |

Seems like it's been relatively slow around there lately. |
