EDIT: ok I figured it out. I didn't think its legal to fish it....Maybe rules have changed. Looks like a good place to take my 10 foot aluminum boat.

Peat Swamp is part of the Pine Hill Recreation Area, which is owned by the Regional Water Authority (aka the RWA) ( http://www.rwater.com/community/recreation/ ), so you'd have to buy and display a permit to access it. The RWA's Recreation web page states, "Fish from the shores in the sparkling clean water of five secluded reservoirs.", so, yes, fishing is permitted, although I think boating is not. In addition, the RWA's Recreation Program Rules and Regulations state, in pertinent part:
Quote:
6. All persons 16 years of age and older must possess a valid Connecticut State Fishing License for fishing.
7. Live bait, other than worms, is prohibited.

Peco I just checked that link. There's no fish symbol so I'm not sure fishing it allowed. I'll call and find out.
