Hit crystal lake in Ellington for first time this year. Jumped on buddy kt's boat. Fishing has not been this fun in quite a while. Fished 7:30-1100 pm. Nothing over 3.5lb. But many 2-2.5lb class fish with several brown fish showing up. Top bait 3/8 jig and 5/8 midnite special. Can not wait to get back out on the water to get my fix.

I also love to fish at the same time. Grab a rod dedicated to topwater, and use a walking popper or spook. The fish might not be any bigger but the excitment is threw the roof.

Like all other boaters l too consider the best part of the day is when the big motor fires up and water comes out. I can not wait to get the long sticks in my hand. In a non-hompsexual way. Grass will be here soon. Will be able to start the day at 1oz.instead of 1/8.oz. Do not forget to rub lotion on your partners hard to reach areas. PS.vote qui by!

Try a drop shot wacky rigged five inch Senko. I've tried it twice now; once in 30+ feet of water at Lake McDonough and once at Congamond Lakes in 4-1/2 to 18-1/2 feet of water. It got me a chain pickerel and a largemouth bass at McDonough, and a rainbow trout and a largemouth bass at Congamond.
