Picked up a 9 foot medium action Tica from Cabela's last week. I was only able to get on the Housatonic for about an hour last week and, of course, I had the new rod curse.
Went out this morning in the wee hours (5:30), up by the dam. I was throwing everything - swimmers, poppers, sluggod, bucktails - nada for three hours. About 8:30 I get a solid hit on a buckytail/sluggo combo but lost him pretty quick. About fifteen minutes later, on my second to last cast, I get a nice hit and manage to reel this one in. 31 inches, no monster by any means, but at least the skunk is off the rod. |
