i went to Keeney cove today on my lunch break and was just getting the line wet. I didn't have any takers on my pearl white zoom super fluke but i did see some large fish jumping out of the water in the distance. Anyone have any idea of what kind of fish that would be? I hardly fish keeney cove so i don't really know what type of fish are in there.

I think that the carp spawn might be starting now. They become especially active at dusk. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter!
I saw a ton of Carp splashing around Sunday. Definitely that time..
Ryan and I were fishing yesterday in this random pond and we saw a monstrous fish (must have been a carp) come clear out of the water and make the biggest splash I've ever seen from a fish. It was wild. _________________ The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad. ~A.K. Best
I was fishing Keeney Saturday morning and my Dad ad these two kayakers saw a large fish splash alot in the water. possibly a keeper striper. They are coming down the connecticut river now
You are seeing carp jumping around. They are spawning this time of the year and yes they are some huge ones out there. Not to many people fish for them so they had time to grow big, plus that they are not a tasty fish to eat.
I'd love to get in a boat and hit that point going towards the bridge. The jump out there all day. I tried walking through the woods past the gate to get over there but it was so swampy and the bugs were ridiculous.
