I want to start shore fishing for striped bass and blue fish this year. I have been fishing for stripers and blues for 6 years off boats but have never been surf casting. I heard bluff point has some good spots and also ocean state, and harkness were good spots. I was wondering if anyone has any luck there what they have used to hook up. |

All can be good. Hit the points when the tides get going. I usually pack a casting and a chunking setup. Night time is the right time for the stripers. Snotty weather is also good. I throw Danny's, other big plugs and poppers. Livelining eels is also very effective. I also like the RI coastline if you want to make a day or night out of it. You can work your way east or west hitting a half dozen spots. When chunking, I go big to try and discourage the dogfish that show up as well. Harkeness is a hike in because they lock the gate at night. _________________ RNA - It's in my blood.
