Got the Nucanoe in the water around 11:30 at Shelton Reservoir, aka Hope Lake.

Beautiful day on the water with a fairly strong breese.
I tried out a new DIY anchor I made with a 2.5 weight and some polypro. Couldn't have asked for it to work better.

Tried my luck with a wacky senko along the south end to no avail.
Tried my luck with a white grub on a 1/4 jog, no avail.

I enjoyed a good cigar and loved having the anchor to hold me in place.
I think this was the experience that I needed to convince myself to keep the Nucanoe. I am going to stick with the handy, big ole barge.

Grew up there as a kid. I think it's stocked with trout now. There are some small bass there but not very big at all.

It is peaceful on a Yak there. Not much traffic at all.

I agree,

They do stock it with trout, but the trout are picked up very quick.

I have pulled decent size bass out of there, but it is somewhat slim pickens

When I was a kid we would sneak into the back side of Trap Falls res. The bass were so big they'd inhale Jitterbugs. That's a trophy bass lake. To bad they don't open it for a day for Yaks.
