Low tide for Bridgeport was scheduled for 3:26pm Wednesday and hit the sandbar at Remington around 2:20pm. Setup was the Daiwa Procyon Penn Sargus.

Lures I played around with included original pearl shad Flat Rap FLR-10, blue sardine Saltwater X-Rap SXR-10, flake purple ghost Max Rap MXR-11, mullet Saltwater Skitter Pop SSP-9, chrome Skitter Pop SP-9, pearl grey shiner FLR-10, moss back shiner Clackin Minnow CNM-9, and 4" pearl white silver fleck Berkley Havoc Subwoofer rigged on a 3/4 ounce Hurricane jighead.

Saw bunker out there for a while but all that happened was a 14" striper on the Berkley and another hit on the Berkley.

Bunker eventually disappeared as the tide got higher.

A regular surf caster came while I was out there and he tried throwing an SP Minnow, 2 pencil poppers, and a pearl white 4" shad soft plastics. He had 1 small striper swirl and 1 explosion by a smaller taylor on the pencil poppers.

Tried throwing the SSP-9 in the flats but no stripers.

Hit the road 5pm.

Discharge wasn't running this time which I'm sure had a lot to do with the reason why there weren't much predators around.

Well at least you beat the skunk, I've never fished that area before but it sounds like it has lots of potential. Good report.

Haven't landed any since that 1 day. Tuesday while I was out there I lost a weakfish and saw the surfcaster land 2 as I got there.

hi guys!
not sure if i should start a new post or not but i think this belongs here Laughing
fished long beach sunday and monday.conditions were bad sunday and no fish.west winds whipped up the sand something terrible.one guy fishing off the first jetty was doing a pretty good.he got some keeper flukes
monday the winds shifted and calmed down alot.same guy on the same jetty first cast...a keeper fluke! he had a decent day after that
things got hot fast about mid tide i guess..about 1pm i started getting runs off mackrel chunks on the bottom.thought it was blue fish..or big bass
lost the first three fish, the fourth was a 20" weakfish...MY FIRST ALSO!!!
this is my first year using barbless circle hooks, braid and(BADLY TIED Sad ) double uni knots...and it showed...but i'm sure that was a school of weakfish and the one i caught was "the baby" .it put up the least fight by far.i thought it was a schoolie or a sea robbin at first
after 2pm closer to high tide the beach was infested with sea robbins...that was it for the fluke and weakfish
FYI: i think the weakfish is still around.
i spent a day and half tossing sand worms.switched to mackrel...and it was "game on" until i ran out at 4PM
