Launched at 6am off at noon.
Water temps were 59/60 and holding steady. Whacky and Texas Rigged Watermelon w/Red Flake did the trick. Largest bag was 12.4 and smallest was 9.2 among 4 of 6 boats. Fish were caught in 8/10 FOW. All large mouth. Water level was low. Those that caught fish limited out a 5 each for a total of 20. Fish were stationary and if you didn't sit on a school you were SOL!
Lunker was 3.9lbs.
Rain started at 6:15am. Trying to figure out a pattern was difficult. Top water, Jigs and Creature baits produced little. The Silver Buddy produced a good quantity of Yellow Perch and Rock Bass.
There were numerous empty beds everywhere but none of the Large Mouths caught showed any signs of spawning yet. I did spot a few bass on beds outside of the launch to the right but they wouldn't budge. The weather most likely has their metabolism all screwed up. I've fished several different lakes this year with different results each time. _________________ Don't hold your farts in! were you in the tourney on sunday? If so how did the rest of the pack do?
EDIT: ok so I needed to actually fully read your post. I was there launched around 8:15 and fished until 3ish. We had a small get together with 5 boats. It was very slow for most of us. My only bass of the day was a chunky 19.5incher and weighed 4lb 8oz. _________________ Never Stop Learning |

(Five-edit) Four of the guys got five each. All around 1.5 to 2lbs with the lunker I posted and one or two more close to it. The water was low and most were caught on drop offs in 8/10 FOW.
I killed the perch and red eye's. _________________ Don't hold your farts in! They travel up your spine to your brain and thats where shitty ideas come from. |

I had the White/Blue Skeeter.
I really gotta start going back to basics with stuff like poppers. When I first started a Baby Bass Senko Texas Rigged, Drop Shot and Worm with a basic top water was all I needed. Seems like my patients has been faltering. Now I have more rods and lures to start a fishing thrift store. Add my sons stuff to that mess and I could open a Tackle Store LOL.
If a Bass Master Pro said it works I tried it.
I even fell for the Banjo Minnow hype because someone told me that I would kill the bass with it. LOL. Under ideal circumstances, maybe down south it would.
My days off rotate so I do a lot of my fishing during the week. I'm up for parole in 14 months. Then my schedule is wide open. "God Willing." My schedule is tight at the moment.
After this weekend most of the lakes will look like Long Island Sound on weekends with the pleasure boaters zigzagging across the water. Last year I got double waked on Candy while fishing from a 22' Ranger. If anyone wants to get out let me know and I'll tell you when I'm off.
RV-I'm off weekends in two weeks. Weekend after Memorial Day. Maybe we can make that Lilly trip then. With a little planning I can use a Vacation Day. Head out early am. Maybe take a few pictures haha! Unless we have a day off together during the week and you want to go then. _________________ Don't hold your farts in!
