At Baldwin this morning. They'll be out all season around the state. Some also offer the safety check, which gets you the sticker and helps avoid inspections on the water by DEEP. _________________ RNA - It's in my blood.

You confused me here with your statements.
Deep does write there reports with info from CTF and CT Fisherman. Also from volunteers who sit for hours at launches awaiting the arrival of tournament participants. They also get information from Tackle Shops located near various bodies of water. It specifically states it in each report.
So my best guess is the DEEP's report is a modified version of all the information obtained from many sources. The problem I see is that the information is past history and if you fish a body of water that had multiple tourneys the day before the fish are most likely spooked.
Not all experienced fisherman post pictures of everything they catch. Not all experienced fisherman have to participate in tourneys to enjoy the pleasures of fishing.
I don't know if I met RV considering we've probably passed each other on the water and chatted at the launches. But I know the lake he fishes well. He's pretty much spot on with his reports. He doesn't provide the magic bullet to catch fish on Lilly but neither do the self proclaimed "Pros" that brag of 300+ smallies on Candlewood. If you pay attention to what he's saying you'll learn a lot like areas to fish and techniques he used.
Personally I don't see or feel a need to participate in large events and spend substantial amounts of money each year although I may try one eventually just to experience it. Like RV I have nothing to prove nor does my current employment and lifestyle allow it. _________________ Don't hold your farts in!
