I woke up early again so I decided to hit the quarry around 615. It was pretty chilly with a slight drizzle and fog rolling over the water.

I started casting a jitterbug when I first got there but wasn't getting a thing. I then switched over to a motor oil/chartreuse plastic worm and bam, first cast I had a LMB.

I managed to catch 2 largies on the worm and 1 on the jitterbug. The bass hit the bug when I paused it for 5 seconds, nothing was interested with a steady retrieve.

Here is one pic I took of the fish, they were all around this size.

Sometimes a slower presentation works better. I've had some success with a slowly fished wacky rigged Senko and a popper, lately. I still usually check to see whether they'll hit a topwater frog, first, though. Wink

Nice job. I have been getting a lot of hits pretty much everywhere on the jitterbug but only one single one while steadily retrieving, They are definitely interested on the pause and slight twitching right now. Can't wait to get back to the Quarry every day. Let me know if you want to fish anytime starting next week Jeff.

Will do. I have a crazy schedule but I'll let you know when I'm available.

Have you guys ever gone up the road a little farther? There are three res's with some pretty large fish in there. Before I bought the Skeet I used to fish them all the time.

The Seymour Reservoirs? Yeah there are a ton of nice fish in there but I have had terrible luck in all of them. They get a lot of pressure.

They do get pressured at times but not as much as you would think. Early am or dusk with Top Water or slow rolled black spinner baits with a little patience have a tendency to produce this;

That's from Res 3 on the entrance side. Had to toss through some bushes to get it.
