Fished the Housy for a few hours last night on the incoming tide. Started at the dam, but not enough flowing water. No way in hell I was going to walk along the base of the dam or wade out to the middle. So, I went to O'Sullivan's Island near the Naugy/Housy merger. Conditions looked perfect - light fog, incoming tide, rain earlier in the day. Nada, nothing, zippo, nyet. No hits, no strikes, no bumps. Moved upstream after a bit to the Housy side of the island and same result. |

I'm with you with not wanting to walk along the base of the dam. Catching a striper just isn't worth the risk.
The skunk at O'sullivans seems all too common for me. What have you been using ? |

Jeff, I've been switching between jiigs in light and dark colors, bucktails, swimming plugs and topwater plugs. Everything but the sink. Bucktails have been most productive (or the least unproductive) but are hellish in catching botomw from the shore. Even 1/2 oz. are getting caught up.
FF, were you by the naugy the other night after the rain? we were talking about waders. My hip boots have sprung a serious leak and you recommended LL Beans.
I'm gonna give it another go this evening. I'll start at the dam if it is flowing and work down to O'Sullivan's. |
