Went to my usual local spot a few minutes from my house to catch a few fish on some light tackle.
Headed down to the crew docks in simsbury around 7 with my usual setup. Every time I've gone, i've had great luck all the time. I've been trying to see if Smallmouths are in that area at all, but so far nada, seems just down towards the tariffville area of the river where the water must move slightly slower then at the crew docks. I had heard people potentially catching some smallmouths under the walking bridge/flower bridge (hey Peco! ), but didnt get to a spot there tonight, will have to next time.
Anyways, went down with my usual extra light setups and fished for about an hour. Mr Rock Bass was out in force! Ended up catching 12 rock bass and 4 fall fish, largest of the fall fish (Dace) ~14 inches. Snapped 4 pictures when it was still light out, but got sick of snapping photo's of those rock
When I go there, I typically know what I'm getting. Nothing off the charts, but great fun on light tackle, usually in numbers. _________________ A bad day of fishing is better then a good day at work |

Remember, the State Record fallfish is only 2-1/4 pounds. Bring your scale with you. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

I need to get me a better scale, lately i've been stubborn/stingy and used my old one, but I need to let the moths out and get a good digital one
There's some big, big fall fish in that area. Between AustinB, myself, and another friend who isn't a poster here (yet ), we've pulled some decent size FF in that area
