I'm a student at central and me and a few of my buddies are looking for a spot tomorrow. I went to Lower pond I think it's called today, and had nothing. It's that pond across the street from the stanley golf course. The water is really shallow, and only saw perch, sunny, and a few small bass trolling the banks. Does not look like a good spot, what do you guys think? I would really like to know some honey holes that are a maximum of 15 minutes away from the CCSU campus. Keep in mind I will be fishing from shore, I wish I had my kayak up here. I fish southern CT mostly so I don't know any spots up here. Even if it's a small pond it doesnt matter, just want to get some giant largemouth! And if you guys want to know some good spots around milford or new haven just let me know I can put you in the right direction. |

CCSU is very tough to fish near. I used to go there before I trasnferred and never had any luck in the area. You might want to talk to PECo about batterson park pond, its a 5 minute drive from campus. Also there is the Mattabessett river and Silver lake in Berlin which all require you having a vehicle _________________ Top 5 Favorite lures: Boo-yah Boo jig, Zoom Horny Toad, Rapala Husky Jerk, Berkley Power Worm, Senkos |

Take a ride over to A.W. Stanley Park & try the back pond. It used to be a nice "over looked" place, but that was quite a few years back.
Good luck,
John. |

What about that pond you see on Rt 9, with the like sunken crane in it? Can you fish from there? I see it everyday when I go from CCSU to work. |

I saw a couple guys in a canoe in one of the ponds last week and have fished from shore there myself. To be honest though I'm really not sure on the legality of it, so I'm curious myself as to the answer. |
