a friend of mine hooked up to this in the ct river the other day on a nightcrawler! I did some research on it, to me it looks like a mudpuppy possibly? just wanted some second opinions or confirmation on the salamander, thanks in advance! ps- it was a foot or so long

Seein more and more over the last couple years. Fairly common now. Especially for worm dunkers. Seen a behemoth over the weekend. 15+in

My cousin caught one at harbor park two weeks ago. Had no clue wtf it was til I googled it. Was told all recent storm activity brought them north. Mudpuppy is the funniest name too. We almost kept it thinking we found a new species. The fingers it has really had us laughing.

Are they like unhooking a fish or do they have teeth and an attitude? Does look like awesome bait, though.
