Has anyone put the boat into the Ct river lately, I drove to thompsonville boat launch on Saturday and the water seemed very high and very fast so I opted out since I am a pure novice and don't know anything about navigating a boat n the river. Are there good places to put a boat north of Hartford line, I know bissel bridge in windsor, but that boat launch doesn't look that great.

The boat launch ramp under the Bissell Bridge IS tough. There's no relief from the current there, even when the water level is low.

I haven't been out, lately, but saw some photos from Sunday of the Charter Oak Landing boat launch parking area under water. I plan to check out Haddam Meadows, tomorrow, but now you have me worried.

Bart's Drive-In Restaurant is on the west side of Palisado Avenue in Windsor, where it crosses the Farmington River. There's a boat launch ramp behind it. But when the water isn't flowing from Rainbow Dam, you wouldn't be able to get a boat bigger than a canoe or kayak very far either upriver or downriver. Since Johnno815 has been able to reach the Connecticut River from there, the water level must be pretty good right now.

TurtleKiss (aka Kira) and I launched from Haddam Meadows, today. The docks aren't out, yet, but the water level was pretty normal. It was nowhere near as high as I feared it would be. We had no issues at all either launching or recovering the boat.

I've learned to copy and save my reports as I write them, just in case. Wink
