I headed out to the Pomp in Southbury around 4 Pm today to catch the bite for a couple of hours. The water was at a very comfortable level and actually pretty slow moving.
A total of 3 trout were landed in the 2 hour period me and my buddy were out. Two of them were rainbows around the 12" mark and the 3rd was a very nice hefty brown trout at least 14". All were caught on pinheads drifting through the current. Nothing would hit phoebes, dare devils, or little cleos.
I'm not sure what flies were out tonight but the trout seemed to love them. Fish were surfacing quite a bit. If you're a fly fisherman, you may make out pretty good.
No pics today because standing in the middle of the river and trying to snap a pic isn't always the easiest of things to do.
