Last summer my girlfriend landed a 42 inch 27 pounder at a popular Milford beach there were 50 pple on that pier. Trust me when I say word got around. we live 1.5 hrs away from that spot and every time we go there somebody says a girl got a 50 pounder here once. I quietly raise my hand and say 27 pounds and she got it lol. They usually smirk and walk away |

I hope everyone who fishes catches fish! I just want everyone to do the leg work themselves to find the fish. Believe me when I say that people read these forums and go to where people say they are catching fish and clog up those spots bad! He brings a few friends and then that friend brings his friends the next day and so on. Just try not to be so specific and include backgrounds in pics as it gives it away for the lazy people who dont go and work for the fish. _________________ There's a fine line between fishing....

I basically saw people from this site everywhere I fished last year. I think its great for the most part. I like the conversations and meeting new people, and I know that if they're going to introduce themselves as someone from the site, they're what I would consider a "good" fisherman. It can be frustrating to start dealing with crowds after you used to have a spot to yourself, but that goes with the territory I suppose. If you want places to fish by yourself take one look at Google Maps. Trust me there are literally thousands of fishable bodies of water in this state, you just have to do the work to get to them. _________________ The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad. ~A.K. Just post your fish and not the details . WORD DOES GET AROUND.
Was there sat. and sad to see all the trash people leave when trash cans are provided ! And keeping shorts, even fillet them in the parking lot and chuck the rest onto the shore WTF !!!!!!!. Many people now call the place a shit hole !
What a shame. My bet is they do not even have a Fishing Lic. |

Aside from preserving a vacancy at a favorite spot and the fact that experience will eventually draw people there anyway, reports of specific spots to the general population brings two major concerns. All spots around here have limited space but as long as all are not at one spot at the same time it works better for the obvious reasons, but crowds, noise, and litter are a pretty good way to get the neighbors to close access. Additionally, some people are just slobs without respect for nature, people, or the fish. Most of the people viewing this site are not members and why would anyone want to invite someone with unknown quantities of respect for others? Easy enough to fish, make some friends, and share locations with only those you trust will be respectful.

If you see me out there on the Gemma Rose II, say hello. Always nice to put real faces and names with people. As for the fish, they're up and down the river, and I'm usually happy to share how I'm fishing. Where typically isn't too hard to figure out! _________________ RNA - It's in my blood.

I believe that people should post their fish but not the exact location. I don't even post my catches at all and I'm catching several keeperbass a day. U can show off ur fish just don't say the spot. I haven't seen any posts about my honey hole but I'm sure it will happen soon. There's already 30 guys there each day it sucks. |

Hi,
Well it is the information age we're in ... So spilling the beans where fish are being caught in any "public waters" isn't as big a deal these days as it once was -> It's not hard for anyone with a computer to find out about when and where good fishing can be found.
We can now get depth charts, satelite pictures, Wx reports, seasonal fish movements, time of day, moon phases, tide & current tables, solunar tables (if you belive in them), spawning times, water temperatures, water flows, get info from all kinds of fishing shows, fishing forums, info from guides and pros, find fish with modern fish finders, and to top everything off population growth where we have more people fishing then ever before.
It is literally impossible today to keep your favorite fishing hole a secret !
Maybe 50 to 80 years ago with none of the above info available to us, as it is today, it was more individual fishermen knowledge of where and when to find various fish at a particular time of year.
As a kid I use to see my uncles writing logs on their fishing outings.
That was valuble info at that time!
Even commercial fishermen kept logs as to when and where to fish, and guarded those logs as if they where gold !
Now a days it's not so important as "public waters - fresh and salt" are well scoured by thousands of fishermen.
These days it depends more on a fisherman's ability, skills, and a good dose of luck to catch the fish which are relatively easy to find, ...again with all the info we can get at our finger tips ..... finding the fish is easy!
The last bastion of secret honey holes is in privately owned waters !
So with boats, modern fishing gear, and modern electronic fish finders, it really boils down to a fisherman's ability
Whether you like it or not that's the way it is, and we all have to live with the reality of all the pressures put on todays fishing !
The old days of unlimited fish and no catch limits are gone !

Your right sea dog, it just, takes a little work to find a good spot so lets keep it that way and not make it any easier for them who want honey holes handed to them I catch keepers all year round up or down the river and have to go there to find where the fish are meaning getting skunked in spots until I find where the fish are holding up that time of year. Everyone should have to work for the fish they catch. Notice when I find them I don't post where. I may say housy but its a big river and I'm trying to tell people the fish are out there so get off your couch and find them and have fun! Sometimes I get my chops busted for saying that much. _________________ There's a fine line between fishing....

FWIW I edited the locations in specific in the OP. I fish public acsess spots that get pounded by fisherman all day. heck I was probably the 20th guy at the spot I fished that day it was a case of who wanted to use the right presentation which that day was live worms... I notice a lot of people are a little too set on topwater lures and don't want to change up baits. I mean I saw 30 guys chuckin plugs SOMEBODY had to have got 1 keeper bass one day and "that's it! everybody use plugs!" idk I fish for fun on my days off but I do fish hard which means changing baits and being ok with deadsticking worms.... I fish with the gf and she doesn't like sitting around with no fish to show for the efforts. so I do my best to get her into fish |

I totally understand! Ive just gotten to a point in my life where throwing bait bores me to death and Id rather throw plugs for hours with no results then dead stick it and watch the grass grow. I went trout fishing with my son yesterday and funny enough he takes after me. He wad bored to death with bait and asked me to show him lures! He is 9 years old and after getting 2 trout on lures and none on meal eorms or powerbait he said" dad, I dont want to bait fish anymore, its boring"! LOL
Thank uou for editing the specifics!!!!!!!!! Literally ladt week there was no where to even park due to people from out of state and wsy out of town. I know its not my spot but its ridiculous when you cant fish your local spot due to out of staters! _________________ There's a fine line between fishing....
