arrived at a wind howling bashan @ 5:30 am. started out shallow around the first island with nothing to show ( and worked it well might i add) anyway didnt get the first bite until more daylight appeared and when the wind died down a bit. any time there was cloud cover with sustained winds we could not get bit. sun popped out several times throughout the day and thats when the bites appeared to turn on even had a couple of doubles today. my buddy and i picked up 19 bass today nothing of any size but it was still nice to get out. all fish came on a dropshot from 12-14fow. went deeper looking for bigger fish up to 25fow but no takers.
proud to say i converted another friend to the ol dropshot. |

Congrats on the 19 bass. The October weather so far has been great (except the wind). |

Nice job!! I've noticed that myself,... before sun-up, if the wind is blowing you may as well sleep in!! _________________ "If people concentrated more on the really important things in life there'd be a shortage of fishing poles."

or how about this, cloudy and windy at noon stay in bed. i never saw that before(not that ive been at this too long) as soon as the sun went in the bite was gone and i mean gone if i was fishing shallow it would of been perfect spinnerbait conditions. but if 1 and 2 pounders were in 14 feet of water i could only imagine that the runts were in the shallows, but what do i know. |
