I purchased my first boat this week I am feeling pretty good hopefully I can get it registered tomorrow.wish I would have saw the sea nymph that Allan was selling but he posted today:( . I wanted a bass boat but most are fiberglass and since I am towing with a kia sportage 2.0 cyl, front 2wd. I was kinda nervous at first but towed it like A champ.
I am going to be taking it out soon...

Congratulations on the new boat! I love my Yamaha four stroke motor.
Don't forget to get your Safe Boater Certificate and always wear a PFD. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

I am registering in MA, neither is required by law. But I will get a PFD soon. I actually need a paddle ,that is required. I didn't know you had a boat Phil, thought you were a kayak guy. What kind of boat are you using? And do you have the same HP? _________________ "Come after Me, and i will make you to become fishers of men"

I'm still a kayak guy, but I got a 2006 G3 Eagle 165 with a 60 horsepower Yamaha four stroke outboard motor last October:

That looks really nice. I think you are right about PFD in mass, I did further research and you should have them in boat.
Got everything registered today after paying over 300$ in taxes and fees... Boats are expensive. _________________ "Come after Me, and i will make you to become fishers of men"

That's just for the first time around, it will get better. To me it's worth every penny. I have a 18ft bass tracker with a 90hp motor.
Every year I pay...
$45 to register
$9 bucks or so for taxes on my trailer
$110 a year for insurance (less than $10 bucks a month)
And every two years I have to pay to register th trailer of course which isn't bad I forgot the cost. It's worth every penny though and it's one of the few things I don't complain about paying for

I've heard that the best two days of a boat owner are the day he buys it and the day he sells it. hope your experiance is better. -Duncan _________________
