Since I finally got into some fish today, though it would be fitting to write my first report!
Low was scheduled for about 11am, over cast morning, looked to be a promising day! (we have been skunked so far this year!)So a buddy and I set out at about 7:30am this morning, just as we have for the past 3 weeks, looking to get into some stripers.
Today we chose to try out a spot that Bobby O had told us about last week in the Shelton area. Sandworms, and soft plastics were the ammunition for today. It was only our second time using sandworms, and boy did we make a good choice!
After our little hike, we had set ourselves up and soaked our lines with the worms on. A few minutes later, I began throwing my fin-s for the hell or it and BAM, fish on!It was a nice 24 inch schoolie. Small, but nice to finally reel something in. After that, plastics were dead, t the worm bite was on.
By the end of the day, my buddy had brought in 2 schoolies ranging from 16-22 inches. While i managed 7 schoolies 15-24 inches. It was a great day to break in my new setup ( 8ft BassPro rod w/ Okuma ABF-50) and dust off the cobwebs.
Now, hopefully my trout trip this weekend is as good as today....! |

Lazy or not, it felt good to tighten the lines
Since joining the striper/ bluefish game, ive been mainly a bunker chunker. Although with none around, and me still getting used to using lures/ jigs from the surf, sandworms will do!

Mr. "I only use Rapala's" made that stupid comment. So considering the source, he made a bunch of other rediculous comments as well. smh _________________ Bad fish!
