Finally got out to do some bass fishing for the first time this year with my buddy. It was a relatively slow day but we did manage to land 1 smallmouth each. Both of them being decent sized. They were taken between 4-10 ft of water on rattle traps. Water temp was between 48-48.7 degrees.

My friend's weighed in at 2 lbs ( sry no pics of that one). I lost one more right near the dock on the way back. He was at least the 2lb or bigger range, hooks weren't in him good and he came off at the boat.

This guy weighed in at 3lbs

They are my go-to bait for this time of year.

Nice!

Last week at Lilly the Silver Buddy was the go to lure with black hair jigs. This week on Zoar the Silver Buddy and Rattle Traps 1/4 and 1/2oz) did absolutely nothing for me.

Can't wait to get out again this Sunday. The one I lost at the tourney got my ire up to get one in the boat.

Very nice smallie, I love smallies a lot more than largmouths. Can not wait to start fishing Pocotopaug. That place has big smallies in it. I've caught them over 4 pounds and have seen 5-6 pounders in there . Just hard to handle when they are that big.

Thanks fellas! Smallies are a ton of fun to catch, even when they are sluggish.
