Went out to Eagleville this morning around 9am. It was cloudy and overcast, but the sun tried to peak through a couple times. I hit my usual spot down the train tracks. I started with a berkley chartreuse pepper sinking minnow. No luck. Switched to my brand new Rapala XR08 I bought last night. On the second cast using a pause and jerk retrieve got a bite and set the hook in a 14" Fallfish. Probably the same Fallfish I saw in a previous report. After that no more action. I was excited to catch something on a new lure on the second cast. I'm becoming a huge believer of the Rapala lures

Rapala beats the skunk!
Nice to hear others enjoy Rapala lures and are getting into them more!
Remember that twitching retrieve I told you about Stevius? Teaser tail wagging in front of the fish gets the to hit. |

Wait til you feel the vibration they send out! Whatever you feel in the rod is what the fish hear from a distance.
If you ever want to go bigger with a JSR but don't have much depth near shore, then go with the new for 2013 Jointed Shallow Shad Rap. JSSR is a Jointed Shad Rap with the same lip as a Shallow Shad Rap. |
