no time for bassin today so headed up to TMA. fished a nice pool for about 20 min. without a nibble. Moved on downstream and picked up like 20 dunkin cups on my way. I get so pissed when I see peoples trash in a nice fishing area anyways thats for another thread i guess. Nevertheless my clean up efforts brought me good luck from the trout gods or maybe because I switched to a copper colored blade rooster tale the fishing got hot quick. Started off with a nice little brown trout followed by a bunch of rainbows many decent sized ones too. Probably caught 8 or 10 in about an hour or so. I did loose what felt like a monster. My rod was bent in half and he was pulling my line darting towards the shore when I felt him swimming toward me I reeled as fast as I could but he shook it. Never got a look at him but I know I missed a big fish. Oh well Ill get over it. Good fishing can't really complain.

Farmington River. Has more than one TMA though. Upper and lower that i know of. Great fishing year round up in the Berkshire hills of MA on that river also. They don't have an opening day in MA so year round fish on! Also a MA license is good for an entire year from the day you buy it imagine that. Yeah I was killin it with the copper blade rooster tail with black n red fly so i never switched off it. Sometimes I feel the blade color matters and sometimes it probably matters much less. I have fly fished a few times but I have trouble seeing fish in the water and never put the time in to get any good at it.

I have to check on those facts regarding Ma license, I am pretty sure they kind of operate like Ct with stocked places being closed and I think the license is for calendar year, but I could be mistaken

Umm yeah your right I'm wrong about the MA freshwater license it does expire with calendar year. I thought they were good for 365 days. My bad. So you you could in both MA and CT buy a license at full price in lets say October and it would expire in a few months. That stinks!
There is no "opening" day or no closed season on major rivers. Opening day is so overcrowded here in CT I imagine it exists to sell lots of licenses or whatever.

Are CT All Waters licences allowed for freshwater fishing in MA or is it salt and surf only?

Only salt and surf, separate license needed for freshwater

Correction, there are like 5 or 6 bodies of water that can be used on freshwater, like congamond because they are between both states.
