|
|
Went over to Keeney Cove yesterday for the second time since the weather turned. It's very slow but it still feels good to have a line in the water. I used mainly senkos and power worms and fish all over the cove. Finally landed a decent sized bass that made the afternoon. The weather was perfect so I really didn't care if I caught anything at all.
One concerning thing was the fact that I saw at least 40-50 dead blue gill and panfish floating on the water. They were all over the cove and washing up on shore. They varied from large to small so not sure what is going on. Haven't really seen that down there. Fish every 5 feet were floating belly up.
Anyone else see this on the CT River?

Sunfish don't spawn in 40 degree water dude. There was a raw sewage leak there from the last flood and it will happen again. Make sure you wash your hands really well after touching anything in the water there. There is a lot of bacteria and sewage in Keeney and Wethersfield Coves. Has been for years _________________

What Justin is meaning to say is that the MDC just stocked the coves with BIG Brown Trout , just in time for opening day!!! |

Probably was some sewage/runoff from some factory that killed em. You should report it so they can document it and maybe find out what happened. |
