|
|
Hey all,
Haven't posted here in a while, looking forward to the bite picking up.
I've fished the CT river many times from a friends 20' triton and know access that way. But . . .
I personally have a 12' sea nymph v-hull that I throw an electric trolling motor on, or can throw a smaller hp engine on ( ~5-10). Are there any areas I could launch from with it? I can fit it in the back of the truck and go that way, so it doesn't have to be a boat launch. I was thinking of trying to get in some of the cove's with it and thought I could probably get into some. Can't say I'd be looking to hit the main river with a boat that size, again just the coves I'm thinking.
Any thoughts welcome, thanks! _________________ A bad day of fishing is better then a good day at work |

you can put it in right at the discharge in Hartford and fish the cove right there! you could launch at the salmon river launch and go up into the cove!
There are tons of places you could go with that boat! |

Ya I know there's the launch at wethersfield cove, I could go from their. Is Keeney Cove cleared up? I know there was some tree's down, so i haven't got down to where ever the launch is there. I'll check out the salmon river cove as well. Cromwell cove won't have any acces I don't think. _________________ A bad day of fishing is better then a good day at work |

theres a cartop launch behind dunkin donuts in cromwell on shunpike rd. i usually put my boat in there and then motor down to the mouth where it emptys out into the the ct river under rt.9 and back up again. |

Ive witnessed less stable and smaller boats then yours navigate the main river without any issues. If you ask me a 12'-14' V hull makes a great river fishing boat. Ten horse should be just fine. Just use your head out there and and pay attention to the river. take it slow and youll be fine. Where a vest they do save lifes. Stripers are coming get out there and have fun. |

That cartop launch behind dunkin dounuts in cromwell is a great spot to launch a boat like yours. Me and JesseC fished it the other day with only a couple hits but was rewarded with a bald eagle taking off a tree limb no more than 150' away from us. _________________ Got em!! |
