Got out to Wethersfield Cove with poster AustinB on my 12 Ft sea nymph v hull using his litt 6 hp engine. Hit the water at about 5, fished for about 3 hours, with some light action. Threw jigs and small grubs on 1/8 oz jigs as well as spinners. Only got some crappie, lost a hit that I suspect was a pike or pickerel judging by the signature torpedo. Overall a fun evening, good to get out there. Saw a few other bass boats out there with the guys reporting no luck. On our way out 2 guys on shore got fish on simultaneously, seemingly decent size fish the way the drag was pulling. If it was one of you, do tell! _________________ A bad day of fishing is better then a good day at work |

Gotcha. Yea it was windy when we got out there but it died down around 7 pm. There were a bunch of people fishing from the shore. We fished the corner with all the down timber drifting towards the entrance to the river, where we saw the action we did. Slow retrieve was the key. _________________ A bad day of fishing is better then a good day at work |

When TurtleKiss (aka Kira) and I launched my boat at Haddam Meadows State Park at 8:00 am, yesterday, at least one of the four boats that beat us to the ramp was looking for northern pike. When we put out at 6:20 pm, my trailer was the last one in the parking lot, so I don't know how they did. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |
