Since today was a gorgeous day with almost no wind and bright and sunny. I decided to ask my old man if he wanted to toss a line in again. He agreed and we headed out. I asked where we were going and he said "I dont care." I laughed and tossed out a few options and one was East Lake. We were already headed in the direction so we followed through. Fished from 6PM to 8PM. Water was silent and for the first hour and a half it was me and my old man casting into nothingness with my whole arsenal. At about 7:30PM I decide to take an old mans advice that I had talked to last year and fish in front of a big long cliff. I put on a lure I have caught 2 pounders with there before and four casts in and I feel dead weight and think to myself "Oh no I finally found the weeds." pull my rod like I'm setting it to get it out of the muck and feel a pull and my drag run a bit. I get it up to the rock I'm standing on and see its a nice fatty. As I'm about to lift her out of the water my rod is like "NO THANKS!" and doubles up on me. On a tiny rock I cant bend down to pick her up so I have to lift her and toss her into this nook full of leaves... (Hence why in photo shes got some leaves on her.) I get her up and weight her and measure. 3.5lbs 17.5inches.

After all the excitement I go back and give it a while longer in the same are and give up on it after 15 minutes of nothing and it getting more and more dark. I go cast a few over by my father and still nothing. It was almost flashlight time so we packed up and left. I feel It was a good day for early spring. Keeping some decent ones under my belt already this year!

Thanks for reading,
Elixir
