Planned on Zoar but opted for Lilly at the last minute. Especially after my sons skunk yesterday.
It was a tear jerker at 45MPH at 9:00am. Frozen hands and breezy. Water temps in the coves and bays were 42deg. Main river topped off at 38degs. By 11am the air temps rose and it was awesome.
Launched out of Pond Brook Cove. Headed to the dam four and hour and hit the drop off just outside the bay on the left. Fish finder looked like a flat landscape on all different views. Spotted some bait balls in 25 FOW but that was it.
Ran up the Shepaug with the same results. Headed North to the hump past the bridge and same results.
Fished a few shallow area's in 8/15 FOW and notta,
Starting to see bait fish schooling but that's about it.
Developed a leak in the main intake line to the live well. Probably a cracked valve due to the cold winter. Decided to take the Skeet back to Reynolds and test the warranty service. They told me it would be ready by next weekend. Got home about 3PM, put my feet up and the phone rings!!! "Boats Ready."
Now that's service. Now I'll have to launch it again tomorrow to test the repairs.
But overall great day to be on the water. Saw other Bass Boats coming outa spring hibernation. Reynolds was a mad house. Weather and Water Temps gotta start to rise eventually.
Till then! Happy boating. _________________ Don't hold your farts in! They travel up your spine to your brain and thats where shitty ideas come from. |

WAS NICE to be one water for sure! ONE FISH would have made it a GREAT DAY! - BUT nothing to be had - i heard of a small pike caught by a crappie guy BUT THAT WAS IT - NO ONE CAUGHT FISH that i talked to! --- hope you did better than me! - and the new boat is ship-shape!!! |

Boat worked out fine! We're ready to fish! Took it for a test run today. They were getting a few on Zoar. Two smallies and one large, All three in the 3/4 lb range on Cabin Creek Spider Grubs.
As of now I'm off Friday (that could change) if your not doing anything. _________________ Don't hold your farts in! They travel up your spine to your brain and thats where shitty ideas come from. |
