Gonna try to get the Skeeter wet on Friday! Gonna hit since I have a tourney there on Sat! Meet in morning and fish till when ever.
Hit me with a PM!
Just a heads up! Only second time on the wet spot! O/JK!
Ran great the first!
Could use a passenger with some nautical miles under their belt!

Yes! That would be the idea! Fished it last week and not a bite but that was more a test run for the Skeet! _________________ Don't hold your farts in! They travel up your spine to your brain and thats where shitty ideas come from. |

Ive never been there, I know the state record came from there, so there has to be giants, but how is the action? what do you catch them on? Bait? Lures? Boat? |

in a boat!
from now to mid may it can be pretty good! - i have caught some decent fish in the high 30's & 40's - as soon as the ice goes out it starts the pre spawn! - i fish in REALLY shallow weedy areas - especially where water come in!
spinner baits - big swim baits - big hair jigs and top water - depending on the sun and how shallow they are!
i might be pushing it this year it has bee very cold and the water is not warming up do to winds and NOW more snow mon & tue this week!
but hey its worth it to be on the water! |

I fished a tourney last year! Using a Top Water Spook One Knocker I hooked a "Huge" Pike." Got it close to the boat before I lost it. I retrieved the lure and found teeth marks that would have removed fingers!
Completely messed up my Bone Spook! I still have the lure to remind me of the splash when that pike hit it! Medium/Heavy Mojo Stick was bent in half. _________________ Don't hold your farts in! They travel up your spine to your brain and thats where shitty ideas come from. |

i took the boat over to lilli on sunday! - just had to get on the water NO MATTER what was going on!
we launched at the state ramp and headed down the channel only to be meet with about 100 yards of ice - we got through that and headed out on the main lake! SINK THE BISMARK! is about what the water looked like WINDY to say the least and WHITE CAPS! we headed up the sheapaug arm and it was not bad motoring but fishing would be tough! - my GPS showed the water at 36.8 (LOL) it did go up to 38.3 later on!
anyway we went all the way up to the falls and fished back to the main lake - IT WAS not windy and fishable - BUT NO PIKE TO BE FOUND! - we managed a walleye and a trout - but that was it!
the wind finally settled down LATE in the afternoon but all the coves that i like to fish were still iced up!
sooo - what have i learned - it was great to be on the water - fishing was almost secondary to the day i had with my friend! - things will get better SOON!
HOW WAS ZOAR??????? |

Bringing the Skeet home tomorrow. I'll be on Zoar on Friday! A buddy hit Zoar last Sunday. Said the bays, as small as they are we're still iced up. Water temp was 38deg.
Drove home last night from Bpt. Skim ices covered Bunnells Pond by midnight.
Hopefully these 50deg days will warm things up a little. _________________ Don't hold your farts in! They travel up your spine to your brain and thats where shitty ideas come from. |
