I don't know Mr. Hamilton, but met him a couple of times on the lower Housy earlier this year. He seems like a decent guy who is genuinely sorry for what happened to his old friend, Mr. Bessette, while they were on his boat. He told me that Mr. Bessette refused to wear a PFD. This is definitely a hard way to learn an easy lesson:
It's the responsibility of the boat owner/operator to require everyone aboard to wear a PFD at all times!
Best wishes to Mr. Hamilton. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

I feel sorry for Mr. Hamilton. His buddy should have known better and agreed to wearing a PFD. |

i have a feeling that someones wife/girlfriend is going to file a civil suite and try and get rich. I did not ware a vest for a long time and i swim great. I now have spent the big bucks to get a PFD that is comfortable to ware. Money well spent. Something to consider is what you have in the boat for passengers. No one wants to wear that 10 dollar walmart special. |
