Does anyone know if there are any bass in Mill Pond in Newington? It looks pretty nice I work less than a mile from the pond and want to fish it after work today. If anyone can tell me what type of fish are in there that would be great

According to the angler's guide fishing is restricted to children under age 16, and it's closed from November 30 till 3rd Saturday in April.

The biggest snapping turtle you can imagine live in Mill Pond. No b.s.-----absolute monsters---it really is only intended for kids to fish but there are many varieties ranging from cats, gills, bass, and even trout thanks to Trout Unlimited who stocked some for the annual children's derby. Take the few extra minutes of a drive and go to Wethersfield cove, 1860 nreservoir, or mattabessett river.

How is the shore access from those places because until I get a roofrack I cant use my kayak, plus getting out at 530 right no really limits the day alight I have when I get out

Yea i grew up 2 minutes from there, there are huge snappers, there are some bass, but like budward said it is really meant for kids, and being that its right across the street from the police station they may kick you out, the bass in there aren't worth getting yelled at for, if i were you i would make the 10-15 minute drive to the berlin area Wink

Nothin really in mill pond, live in newington and fish it regularly in the summer when I can't get a ride anywhere else. It's full of blue gills pretty decent size. If fished it a lot so I've caught some bass(nothing over a pound) and caught one bullhead. That's about it for mill pond. But if you do go, corn and a bobber will do te trick
