Took the boat out for the first time this year and went to silver lake on Saturday, still a little chilly but felt good to be on the boat, water temp was right at 40 and I caught a few fish, couple 15" bass a couple pickerel and the crappie bite was hot but didn't catch to many.

The crappie bite is on? Sweet! Very Happy

Were you fishing live bait or lures? If lures, what were the largemouth bass hitting?

I only got one on the husky jerk but they kept hitting it on just about every cast, so I threw on a 3" jerk bait and pulled a few up

If I remember correctly, at Saltonstall I caught a Crappie on my 5" Bone Spook! With a mouth hook set! So yeah! I believe it.

Pretty amazing to hear crappie hitting a lure that big.

2 catches I've had are a 2" yellow perch on a 2 3/4" brown trout Rapala Jointed and a 7" sea robin on a 7" Original Floater.
