Has anyone gone by weathersfield cove in the past day or so? I was wondering how high up the water was, and if I could launch my boat yet |

According to the NOAA tide tables, the water level is higher now in Wethersfield Cove than it was when I was there last Wednesday. It looks like it'll peak on Saturday and slowly start receding after that.
You could launch at Charter Oak Landing, instead. Boat launch passes won't be required until Memorial Day weekend. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

I have gone there twice so far for like 4-5 hours each time and not caught a darn thing. Any advise? I don't own a boat so I am limited to shore fishing. Im aiming for pike, the only one I ever caught was accidentally while reeling in. So this is a new one for me. _________________ There he stands, draped in more equipment than a telephone lineman, trying to outwit an organism with a brain no bigger than a breadcrumb, and getting licked in the process. ~Paul O'Neil, 1965 |

Don't give up. The water in Wethersfield Cove was very murky last week. Murky water tends to kill the bite.
If you're throwing lures, noisy, flashy ones are best for murky water. I was extremely lucky to catch the attention of a striped bass in the cove with a white spinnerbait when I was there.
If you're throwing live bait, big, injured baits are best. Try clipping a couple of the fins on your baits to make them bleed and swim badly. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

You better hope PETA doesn't read this post! You'll have some hot looking nude blonde knocking on your door with a picture of a dead fish. _________________ Don't hold your farts in! They travel up your spine to your brain and thats where shitty ideas come from. |
