Went out after work (~5:30) to Crystal Lake yesterday. Lots of water skiers early. Hooked up to something decent sized early on my drop shot rig; line broke at the hook. Not sure if it is my poor knot tying skills or old line. May have been a trout anyway, as they seem to like my drop shot rig w/ 3" senko.
Fished the jig n pig after that for quite awhile with no luck. Finally got some hits, including one 8-10" bass that latched on to the pig part at the side of the boat and almost didn't let go before getting to the boat.
Shortly after that I caught my one fish of the night - a 3lbs LM! I know this isn't a big deal for most of you folks (I've seen the pics) but that's by far the largest bass of the season for me and I am pretty certain the biggest one I've ever caught.
Had one more fish pick up a Senko I was throwing but I lost it a few feet from the boat when it jumped.
Got off the water at 11:30. While not a good night as far as volume, I was pleased with the outing. |

Nice job shorty. A 3lber is still a good fish so don't worry about what others think. Everyone has their own personal best fish and goals for each season. One thing you might want to consider in the future if going to post a lot of fishing reports is to purchase a cheap digital camera as everyone including myself love to look at pics when fishing reports are posted. _________________ Eat, Sleep, Fish......I Love my SKEETER ZX225!!!

Thanks guys.
I have a digital camera I can bring along, but I'm notoriously bad at remembering to bring it.
Hadn't caught anything worth photographing until yesterday, either. |

Keep it up- I got into bass fishing seriously last fall and I caught some very big fish. They will come if you stick with jigs and slower moving plastics into the late fall. |

Yeah, jig n pig - black and blue 1/2oz (maybe) with a black/blue senko craw trailer. Was working it in the middle depths early but this fish was in more like 4-6 fow. |
