Local Bridgeporter Jose and I hit the quarry in Wilton that we hit last time together. Put in about 3 hours from 12:30pm til 3:30pm drilling holes and jigging.
Jose was using a hot pink Sweedish Pimple rigged with mealies while I was using a pearl white Jigging Shad Rap WSR-3.
Action was good even though there was 15 to 30 minutes of no action after 15 to 30 minutes of action.
Jose was on a roll with bluegills he landed close to 20 with 1 pumpkinseed and 1 yellow perch as well. 90% of his bluegills were 8" bulls. His pumpkinseed was 7" and yellow was a keeper 8".
I jigged up 6 bluegills, 1 yellow, and 2 largemouths. Also lost a 2 to 3 pound largemouth at the hole. One largemouth was a short 7"er while the other was a 13"er around a pound. The yellow was a 10" pregnant female who was pretty chubby.

The 3 pounder spit the hook and water depths varied from 4 to 7 feet.
One thing I forgot to add was the ice. Ice ranged from 3 to 5 inches of solid clear black ice. |
